Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) grants scheme

Who can apply for a grant?

All employers registered with CITB can apply for a grant.

Grants are available to employers of all sizes, whether or not they pay a levy to CITB. However, employers must make sure they are up to date with levy returns before making an application. This rule applies to all employers seeking grants for their employees.

What grants are available

The following categories of grant are available. Visit each section linked below for specific details on what courses are supported, rules around eligibility and how to apply.

Highfield has a wide range of construction qualifications that fit into all of the above.

CITB Large Employer Fund

Large CITB-registered employers can apply for funding to help with the costs of eligible training.

The Large Employer Fund is an interim offer available only for FY26/27 while a longer-term solution is developed. This fund is intended to provide large employers (with 250 or more PAYE employees) with financial support towards their training needs.

The funding can be utilised against any in-scope training that employers choose against the following:

  • Short course training (excluding anything still supported via the grants scheme, such as Plant Operations & Scaffolding)
  • Leadership and Management training (for those in leadership, supervisory or management roles)
  • Other construction-related training
