Are you thinking of starting a course but are not sure where to begin? We can help.
As an awarding organisation, we are responsible for developing qualifications that we then own. Although we do not deliver the training courses ourselves, we can still help to put you in touch with the people who do.
Using the CourseFinder Plus system on our website (http://www.highfieldqualifications.com/coursefinderplus), you can search for qualifications by title and geographical area. This system will also provide you with the contact details for the training providers who are currently delivering each course.
All you need to do then is contact the relevant training provider, who will be able to talk you through the important details and book you onto the required course.
A couple of tips for using CourseFinder Plus:
- keep the ‘search address’ field as general as possible, for example, enter a county rather than a specific town or city. If you leave this field blank, it will bring up results for the whole country.
- if you are struggling to find what you are looking for on the system, try a quick internet search instead, such as ‘First aid at work training courses in London’.
There are a couple of reasons why this could be happening.
The first could be that your details are incorrect. The best thing to do is to contact your training provider to double check that the details you registered with match those on your application. We suggest checking:
- the spelling of your name
- the order of your names
- the use of middle names
- your date of birth
All information submitted to the SIA must match what is on our system, so please ensure the details you provide are correct. If you realise that some information is incorrect, inform your training provider as soon as possible. They will then submit the amendment to us for reupload.
If all your details are correct, the second reason could be that you have multiple accounts set up in your name on the SIA system – sometimes, applications and certification details can end up in separate accounts. The best thing to do is go onto your SIA portal and click Contact the SIA.
If they confirm that there are no duplicate accounts in your name, please contact your training provider, who will work with us to resolve the issue.
Your training provider is the company who delivered your course and with whom you completed your exam. You should be able to find their name on your enrolment paperwork.
Before you apply for your CSCS card, there are a couple of things to have ready to make the process smoother. Ensure you have:
- a scanned copy of your qualification certificate or proof that you are registered to complete a recognised construction-related qualification relevant to your occupation. To check if CSCS accepts your qualification, you can use the CSCS Card Finder – select Search by qualification, enter the title and see if it appears.
- the test ID number from your Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test. This can be found at the top of your pass certificate.
You should now be ready to apply. Go to the CSCS website: https://www.cscs.uk.com/
For all enquiries about personal licences, please contact your local licensing authority.

We know that waiting for your results can be an anxious time, which is why we have set out the timescales below. However, things can sometimes take longer if we need to raise queries with your training provider. Once your results have been processed, they will be released to your training provider.
From the date we receive your paperwork, it may take up to:
- seven working days to review multiple-choice exam papers
- 10 working days to review level 4 exam papers
- 12 working days to review functional skills exam papers
Your first point of contact should be your training provider, who should be able to provide you with an update and answer any queries. If you are unable to get an update, you can contact us on 01302 363277.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with your result, but we will support you where we can.
Once you have completed your qualification, your training provider should issue you with your certificate. If you have not received it, we recommend contacting your training provider, who should be able to support you.
