Who is this qualification for?
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. The content is appropriate for learners who are employed as security officers in a range of sectors and forms the knowledge and skills requirements for learners undertaking the Modern Apprenticeship in Providing Security Officer Services at SCQF level 5.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake between approximately 1,230 and 1.290 hours of learning, with 90 hours of off-the-job training.
The qualification covers areas such as communication, health and safety, preservation of CCTV systems, minimising and dealing with aggressive and abusive behaviour, access and egress, entry and exit of vehicles, arresting people, preservation of evidence, searching, controlling security incidents, etc.
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.
