Who is this qualification for?
This qualification aims to provide learners with knowledge of British values; democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. It also covers the principles of Prevent, which is the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy to stop people becoming radicalised, involved in violent extremism or supporting terrorism, in all its forms.
How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 17 hours and of this 15 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.
The qualification covers the fundamental British values, concepts of extremism, radicalisation and terrorism and the impact of extremism on both local communities and the nation. Learners will also learn how to identify the warning signs of radicalisation and how to keep themselves safe.
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.
